Joe Milton, Kaleb Webb lead strong touchdown drive for Tennessee during Orange & White game
Tennessee’s offense started slow but has since exploded as we enter halftime of the Vols’ annual Orange & White game.
Joe Milton started the game with an overthrow and a 3-and-out. He struggled to lead a drive of substance while walk-on Gaston Moore scored the game’s first 2 touchdowns with the 3rd team.
But of course Milton wasn’t down forever. He put up a good, perhaps slightly underthrown pass to 2nd-year wide receiver Kaleb Webb, who made an amazing adjustment to make a contested catch. A few plays later, Milton found Webb in the end zone on a short route for the senior QBs first score of the day.
Check out the throw and catch that set up the touchdown below:

Now, Milton has started putting some drives together to end, but freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava has looked strong as well. He also sputtered out of the gate, but made a seriously tough pass down the sideline look easy, connecting with freshman TE Ethan Davis.

It’s hard to truly analyze a spring game when considering how it can translate to the playing field in fall, but a few other players have stood out, too. Linebacker Arion Carter has a few sacks to start his time in Neyland Stadium, and freshman running backs Cam Seldon and DeSean Bishop have both looked very strong in their first impressions to Vol Nation.
We still have 2 quarters to go. Let’s see how the Vols fare.
