Tennessee currently has the SEC’s No. 2-rated recruiting class for the 2021 recruiting cycle but the Vols are missing one key piece among the program’s latest commitment list — Jeremy Pruitt’s program does not have a quarterback committed in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

While it’s relatively early in the 2021 recruiting cycle, the signal-callers are always the biggest dominos to fall and many of the top prospects around the country are already committed. For reference, seven of the top 10 dual-threat QBs in the 2021 class are committed as well as six of the top 10 pro-style passers in the class.

The Volunteers will have their shot to impress Texas native Kaidon Salter heading into the weekend as the Lone Star State native shared that he was on Rocky Top Thursday morning. Before visiting Knoxville, Salter visited South Carolina and Florida State this week.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound quarterback from Cedar Hill High School is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 10 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 244 overall recruit in the country for the 2021 cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. In addition to his abilities on the football field, Salter also runs track in high school.

During his junior season at Cedar Hill High School, Salter threw for 2,550 yards with 28 touchdowns and six interceptions in addition to 616 yards and 10 touchdowns.
