“Alvin is an extremely competitive kid,” Tennessee running backs coach Robert Gillespie said in a statement released by the program. “He has an explosive element to his game that will allow him to help us immediately. I’m excited to coach him this Spring and believe that his addition will create a healthy competition in the running backs room.”

Kamara ranks as the No. 4 overall prospect and the No. 2 running back for the 2015 JUCO recruiting class. The four-star announced his committment to Tennessee in June.

Kamara spent one season at Alabama before opting to transfer in February.
