Before he even has an opportunity to coach his team on the field for the start of spring practice, Josh Heupel will reportedly have to deal with an off-the-field issue at Tennessee.

According to the Knoxville-based NBC affiliate WBIR, three Volunteers were recently arrested by campus police for simple possession and drug paraphernalia.

Those players are redshirt freshman Martavius French, and true freshmen Isaac Washington and Aaron Willis. All three are defensive players.

French did not see the field last season for the Vols after signing as a four-star member of the 2020 recruiting cycle. Willis is the highest-rated player left in Tennessee’s 2021 signing class following a few departures.

Washington was ranked as a three-star member of Tennessee’s 2021 signing class.
