Tennessee picked up a huge win over Florida on Saturday night, 38-33.

The star of the game for the Volunteers was unquestionably Hendon Hooker.

The senior quarterback passed for 349 yards and 2 touchdowns and added 112 yards and an additional score on the ground.

The 6-4, 218-pounder has completed nearly 72 percent of his passes for 1,193 yards, 8 TDs, and no interceptions this season.

He’s also contributed 175 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.

On Sunday’s edition of ESPN’s “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” analyst Matt Barrie said if the Heisman Trophy were awarded at the end of September that Hooker would be his pick.

“What Hendon Hooker’s doing, at least to me for now, has to be the September Heisman favorite,” Barrie said. “What he did yesterday, over 300 yards in the air, over 100 yards on the ground, accounted for (three) total touchdowns … Hendon Hooker’s remarkable.”

The Volunteers, who are now ranked No. 8 in the AP Top 25, are off this week. They return to action on October 8 at LSU.
