Jeremy Pruitt was emotional after the loss to Georgia on Saturday because he was proud with the way his players, especially on defense, responded to the Bulldogs.
DB Nigel Warrior, who had five tackles against Georgia, explained on Tuesday to reporters how they took Pruitt’s reaction to the improved effort.
“We fought that game and we got better, and I feel like that’s why he got a little bit emotional, because he saw us getting better,” Warrior said. “With that being said, that makes us want to play even harder.”
Tennessee fell to 2-3 with the loss and 0-2 in the SEC, but Warrior said that the players have learned something about the team after five games and entering the bye week. He said there’s progress every day.
“It just shows us that we need to become one, get tighter and start to trust each other on and off the field, coaches, players, do our job and execute,” he said.

Warrior and Taylor are going to remembered like Eric Berry was, bright spots on teams that under achieved. Really glad he kept the legacy alive even though he really didn’t have to.
Wouldn’t put those two in the same breath as Eric Berry
Oh the agony, I have to agree with legends.
I said bright spot definitely not saying, they are all Americans like Berry.
Pruitt was probably tearful about his defensive play calling that allowed 38 points on basic “hand off left” and “hand off right” plays.
He was emotional because he coaches the worst team in the conference, and he don’t have Daddy Saban there to bail him out with superior talent.
Such snide comments. I would think most of us would agree that Pruitt took over a team that is short on talent. The bigger problem was the lack of coaching the team had in the past years. You can’t change the lack of talent in a year but you can change the attitude. Tenn would have quit in the 2nd quarter last year under Jones. I think Pruitt was proud of how the team worked the whole game. A good coach takes the blame for the loss and backs up their players. I think Pruitt is a class act and will get the players playing at a higher level. I can’t stand Tenn but you have to respect the coach
