Tennessee has already acknowledged an internal investigation into Jeremy Pruitt’s program but there’s been no concrete information regarding the severity of what’s currently going on in Knoxville when it comes to what investigators are looking into within the football program.

This week, it was revealed that Tennessee has hired Kansas City-based attorney Mike Glazier to help the school with the investigation. If you aren’t familiar with Glazier, he and former SEC commissioner Mike Slive founded a law firm to help schools deal with NCAA investigations.

Interestingly, Glazier was not hired to assist the athletic department, he was retained to help the university. The difference there being he could potentially assist Tennessee in removing Pruitt.

Now comes new information from national radio host Dan Patrick, who shares that he is hearing Tennessee will “face a serious investigation” and that Georgia could be next.

It has previously been reported that Tennessee assistant coach Brian Niedermeyer is under investigation for his recruitment of former five-star offensive lineman, Amarius Mims. The Peach State lineman committed to Georgia over Tennessee and Alabama and signed with the Bulldogs during the Early Signing Period.

At one point during Mims’ recruitment, a high school coach asked fans for donations during a live stream video from the lineman’s Instagram account. The coach noted that the donations from fan bases could be the deciding factor in Mims’ recruitment.

It’s unclear if that video had anything to do with the current investigation at Tennessee or what Patrick is referencing with his recent comments but it’s just one example of how interesting Mims’ recruitment was leading up to his decision to sign with Georgia.

Either way, it looks like we will have plenty of storylines to watch this offseason in Knoxville and Athens if Patrick’s report is accurate.

Patrick shares his information in this clip, during the second half portion of the video:
