It appears Tennessee will be without a key member of its offensive line this spring.

According to Austin Price of VolQuest, starting offensive tackle Wanya Morris will miss the Vols’ spring practices after undergoing offseason hip surgery last month. Although the rehab is expected to be lengthy, Morris should be back for fall camp, per Price.

As a freshman, Morris played in all 13 of Tennessee’s games this past season, which included making 12 starts. He helped the Vols end the year with six consecutive wins, including a Gator Bowl victory over Indiana.

Morris was named to the SEC All-Freshman team as well as the 247sports True Freshman All-America team. He should be a key part of Tennessee’s offensive line for at least the next two seasons, assuming that he stays healthy.

Although the Vols won’t have Morris this spring, they’ve added Georgia transfer Cade Mays to the offensive line, which should give them more flexibility and depth moving forward.
