Tennessee fans have been up in arms following the Volunteers’ weekend overtime loss in Baton Rouge that has left the team locked in a three-way tie atop the SEC standings. The reason for the uproar? Many fans were already questioning the officiating from the game but when Vol Twitter found photo evidence of one of the game’s referees supporting LSU on Facebook, things were taken to another level.

The referee in question is Anthony Jordan and when the photo below, shared by Jayson Swain of “The Swain Event,” starting making the round of Vol Twitter, many fans understandable questioned how the SEC allowed a noted fan of one of the teams to officiate a crucial league game.

Here is the photo if you missed it over the weekend:

In addition to the viral photo above, another one has surfaced showing Jordan wearing Alabama gear after allegedly losing a bet. Here photo was shared online by Clayton Wood on Twitter:

During his Monday press conference, it didn’t take long for Rick Barnes to be asked about the viral photo. According to the Tennessee coach, he has been in constant contact with the Southeastern Conference office and he seems to believe action will be taken.

Here is what Barnes had to say when asked about the photo and if he’s had contact with the SEC.

“I have, I have been in contact with them since the game, a couple of different times and I appreciate them and how they talked to me and what we’ve talked about,” Barnes said on Monday. “Like I said, I have full confidence that they will do the right thing. I really do. They understand the situation and they are as upset about it as we would be but the fact is they’ll handle it and we have to get ready to play another game.”

The Tennessee coach was then asked a follow-up, in which he again stated he has been in contact with the league office.

“I’ve been in contact with them about everything that has happened. Yes,” he answered.
