Tennessee’s spot at the top of the College Football Playoffs rankings only lasted one week. However, falling entirely out of the top 4 has fans and media blasting the committee.

Undefeated TCU out of the Big 12 jumped into the No. 4 spot after beating Texas Tech 34-24. Tennessee dropped to No. 5 after falling 27-13 against Georgia, who now has the No. 1 ranking.

This led to outrage on Twitter bemoaning the rankings.

Here’s a sampling of the tweets:

Tennessee began the season 8-0 before the loss to Georgia. Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker completed 23 of his 33 passes for 195 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. Explosive Tennessee receiver Jalin Hyatt was held in check with 6 receptions for 63 yards. Tennessee rushed for 94 yards on 2.2 yards per carry. The Tennessee defense didn’t have any sacks or quarterback hurries on Georgia’s Stetson Bennett.

TCU now has a 9-0 overall record. TCU quarterback Max Duggan completed 12 of his 23 passes for 195 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. TCU running back Kendre Miller rushed for 158 yards and one touchdown. The TCU defense racked up 4 sacks, 2 of which came by Dee Winters.
