Tennessee announces G Lamonte Turner underwent surgery on Tuesday
Tennessee G Lamonte Turner was a key part of the Volunteers’ success during the 2018-19 season, but he battled some ailments during the year.
Still, in 28 games (19 of which he started), he averaged 10.9 points, 3.8 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
As he heads into his senior season, though, he’s going to have to take some time off, as Tennessee announced on Tuesday that Turner had undergone surgery on his left shoulder:

How long the injury has been bothering him is unclear, but it’s safe to say Turner was battling some pain for the final few games of the year, at least.
This isn’t the first time Turner has had a shoulder surgery, either. Per Tennessee reporter Wes Rucker, this may be as many as three shoulder procedures for the talented guard:
I believe that’s three shoulder surgeries for #Vols' Lamonte Turner. At least one on each shoulder. Kid is tough as nails. Has played some great basketball through a lot of pain.
