The Tennessee Volunteers waited a long time for their top 2018 signee — 4-star LB JJ Peterson — to arrive on campus.

Now that he’s in Knoxville, though, the wait continues, as he is working his way into game shape.

On Tuesday, fellow Tennessee LB Daniel Bituli said that Peterson is working hard to get caught up so he can get out on the field (via 247Sports):

“JJ’s working hard,” he said. “We have multiple guys, as far as coaches, helping him out, but guys on the team, also, when he’s on the sideline we’re coaching him and letting him know exactly what’s going on. He’s eager to know what’s going on and obviously that’s good to see from him.”

When we finally see Peterson in game action remains to be seen, but it appears he’s doing everything he can to make that sooner rather than later.

Ultimately, though, coach Jeremy Pruitt will decide if and when to use Peterson this season.
