Tennessee reaches decision on Jimmy Calloway after throwing punches versus Akron, per report
Tennessee wide receiver Jimmy Calloway will miss the first half of the Vols’ game against Florida Saturday after punching an Akron player repeatedly in Week 3.
Josh Heupel referred to the game as one of the chippiest he’s been apart of in his coaching career. It’s likely some words were thrown Calloway’s way, but Tennessee can’t let his actions go unpunished. This isn’t MMA.
The University made the decision Tuesday morning.
Tennessee has suspended WR Jimmy Calloway for the first half of the Florida game based on his actions that got him ejected from the Akron game last Saturday. Calloway threw 4-5 punches at an Akron DB who apparently grabbed Calloway by the face mask. @SportsAnimal991

Calloway has struggled to start his Tennessee career, but there’s no doubting the obvious talent he has at the position. The redshirt sophomore is near the bottom of an uber-talented depth chart, but will probably get some run in the second half against the Gators.
