Tennessee baseball just had a season for the books.

The Vols won 57 games, reaching the Super Regional round before falling, some may say prematurely to Notre Dame.

And though they will have a solid squad next season, the Vols lost some serious talent in the 2022 MLB Draft. In total, 10 former Vols were selected, the 2nd most of any school in D1 this season.

All 10 are listed below, per On3 Sports:

  • Drew Gilbert — No. 28 overall, Houston Astros
  • Jordan Beck — No. 38 overall, Colorado Rockies
  • RHP Blade Tidwell — No. 52 overall, New York Mets
  • Trey Lipscomb — No. 84 overall, Washington Nationals
  • RHP Ben Joyce — No. 89 overall, LA Angels
  • LHP Will Mabrey — No. 168 overall, Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Jorel Ortega — No. 174 overall, Minnesota Twins
  • Seth Stephenson — No. 207 overall, Detroit Tigers
  • RHP Mark McLaughlin — No. 221 overall, Chicago White Sox
  • Cortland Lawson — No. 411 overall, Washington Nationals

The 10 picks are Tennessee’s most in one draft in program history, surpassing the previous record of 8 set in 1992.
