No. 5 Tennessee has officially bounced back following the team’s tough weekend loss to No. 4 Kentucky as the Volunteers took care of business at home, beating Vanderbilt 58-46 on Tuesday night.

The win improves Tennessee’s Southeastern Conference record to 12-1, the best mark in the league, and overall record to 24-2 on the season. Vanderbilt drops to 9-17 on the season with a 0-13 SEC mark. Tennessee’s next game is at LSU on Saturday.

Grant Williams led the way for the Vols in this one, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Lamonte Turner and Admiral Schofield each scored 12 points in the game, which was the second-most among all Vols against Vandy.

Rick Barnes’ team had only 13 assists in the game and a surprising 12 turnovers.

Tennessee’s struggles in this game centered on the team’s lackluster shooting night as the Vols made only 40 percent of their baskets in the game, making 22 of 55 attempts. Tennessee only got to the free throw line nine times in this game. Williams attempted 23 free throws against Vanderbilt in Tennessee’s first matchup of the season against Vanderbilt.
