Here are some quick thoughts on Tennessee’s 55-10 blowout win over Western Carolina:

What it means: Well, not much. Everyone knew Tennessee would rebound in a massive way after the loss to Oklahoma. However, this game is important to get some confidence headed into a must-win matchup against Florida.

What I liked: Saturday night’s breakout player is wide receiver Preston Williams. Williams missed practice time early due to a flagged ACT, but he caught two touchdowns against Western Carolina. Another thing I liked was the Vols’ two special teams touchdowns. Evan Berry returned a kickoff, and Alvin Kamara returned a punt for a touchdown.

What I didn’t like: I’m still not sold on Joshua Dobbs’ accuracy. Dobbs finished 15 of 21 for 144 yards and two touchdowns, but heading into SEC play, the accuracy has to improve. He tried to force some throws into tight spaces tonight.

Who’s the man: A number of the players could receive this title Saturday night, but let’s go with safety LaDarrell McNeil, who missed the start of the season with an injury. McNeil picked off a pass and nearly housed the return. Welcome back, LaDarrell.

Key play: Evan Berry’s fantastic 88-yard kick return touchdown was incredible, and to make it even better, his brother Eric Berry was in the house.

What’s next: The most important game of the season happens next week in Gainesville, and it’s arguably Butch Jones’ most important game of his Tennessee tenure. Florida has beaten Tennessee the last 10 games.
