While sports are at a standstill due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, some leagues are putting pieces in place to make a return. College football is also at a halt until it’s safe to return, but leaders are putting together multiple options and contingencies ahead of the 2020 season.

However, there’s one must-watch TV sports event happening in May, according to Action Network’s Darren Rovell. “The Match,” featuring Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, will be played next month, potentially on the 24th.

Rovell reports that all the proceeds of the event will go to COVID-19 relief, and it will be aired live on TNT. Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida, is the likely host for The Match.

It’s believed that Nike representatives Woods and Manning will be teamed up against Mickelson and Brady, and if it’s anything like “Peyton’s Places” on ESPN featuring Manning and Brady, we’re in for a treat. Not sure one could get 4 more competitive people on the planet for a golf match.

Woods and Mickelson would need to receive a “release form for them to play on TV,” per Rovell’s report.

The PGA Tour has been at a halt since March 12, and it’s expected to return June 11.
