2017 OT prospect Trey Smith is a wanted man.

Ranked by 247Sports as a 5-star prospect, the Jackson, Tenn. native has narrowed his sights down to a list of six schools: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

While Smith won’t make his official decision for a couple of months, there’s one local school garnering a ton of attention:

“Most of my visits right now, because of my sister working up there, are to see Tennessee,” Smith told ESPN. “But I’ll be going to the Tennessee-Florida game (Sept. 24), Tennessee-Alabama (Oct. 15), and I think we might go to the Battle at Bristol (Tennessee-Virginia Tech on Saturday) just for the significance of it being the largest college football game ever.”

It’s easy to see why Smith is such a hot commodity. Standing at nearly 6-foot-6, 300 pounds, he’s got great size for the tackle position. Athletic enough to ward off quick pass-rushers, and strong enough to hold up against veteran defensive linemen, Smith appears ready to play right away on the collegiate level.

Smith is tentatively scheduled to unofficially visit Ole Miss for its contest against Alabama on Sept. 17. He plans to commit in early December, and will be an early enrollee for whichever program he ultimately signs with.
