Tennessee has relied on its supersonic offense to get the job done all season.

Hendon Hooker, Jalin Hyatt and Jabari Small have worked head coach Josh Heupel’s offensive scheme to perfection against every team they’ve played this season. In the first half against Georgia, that has not been the case.

The Vols scored just 6 points in the first half against a strong defensive unit from Georgia. Hendon Hooker has had defenders in his face all game long and the Bulldogs secondary is doing a good job of keeping receivers covered. Those defenders also forced Hooker into just his 2nd interception of the season.

Tennessee is beating itself, too. The Vols are having trouble against the Georgia crowd, jumping a little early for a false start several times through the first 30 minutes.

Simply put, Tennessee looks scared. And it’s noticeable. However, this is still an offense that can be dangerous when provided the right spark. The question if if there will be any gas left in the tank out of the halftime break.

We will see soon enough. Fans took to social media to react to Tennessee’s uncharacteristic offensive performance in the first half against No. 3 Georgia.
