Stanley Cup Finals fever has taken over the city of Nashville. Despite the city being a stronghold of Southeastern Conference alumni, the majority of the town’s fandom is currently centered around the Predator’s first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in franchise history.

In case you don’t follow hockey, the Predators beat Pittsburgh Monday night to even the series at two games apiece. The series will now shift back to Pittsburgh for a pivotal Game 5 that could determine the eventual winner of the series.

While Nashville is home to Vanderbilt, as well as many transplant SEC fans, the capital city of Tennessee without a doubt has more Volunteer supporters than any other school. Considering the love the city has for the Vols, it was a nice surprise when the PA system at Bridgestone Arena started blasting the unofficial fight song of Tennessee during the closing minutes of the Predators Game 4 victory.

The only thing that made the playing of Rocky Top even better was the fact the Preds scored just seconds later to push their advantage to 4-1 over the Penguins.

When the Predators make their return trip to Nashville for Game 6, potentially for the chance to win the championship, there’s little doubt Rocky Top has to be on the Bridgestone playlist.
