Tennessee has a new “championship” to add to its trophy case, as the school organized the largest ever human letter formation Wednesday inside Neyland Stadium. As you can see in the video below, the Volunteer faithful went with the classic Tennessee orange look for the historic event.

In total, 4,223 people showed up to take part in the event helped organize by NBC’s Today Show with special guest Al Roker. This campaign is part of a larger event called the Rokerthon project. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, this is indeed a world record.

The event even drew Tennessee head coach Butch Jones out this morning, despite the Vols currently in the middle of spring football practices. Jones got some nation air time on NBC, which surely can’t hurt his recruiting efforts in the future.

According to Tennessee’s student newspaper, the Daily Beacon, the previous human letter record was 3,373 people forming the letter Q at Queen’s University in Canada.
