Williams signed his undrafted free agent deal with the Dolphins in April, after he caught 96 passes for 1,345 yards and 14 touchdowns at Colorado State in 2018. He sat out during the 2017 season after he transferred from Tennessee.
The Associated Press reported that he was touted by at least one draft prognosticator as a potential first-round pick. But he didn’t make the NFL Combine following a 2017 arrest on misdemeanor charges stemming from a domestic dispute.
A former 247 Sports Composite 4-star prospect from Hampton, Ga., Williams was the No. 47 overall player and the No. 7 wide receiver in the 2015 class. He played just seven games in two seasons with the Vols, and had 16 receptions for 247 yards and two touchdowns. Seven of those receptions, both touchdowns and 158 yards came in three games as a freshman in 2015.
