Jeremy Pruitt has brought many changes to Rocky Top this spring but one that was immediately apparent from Day One of spring football was the lack of music being played at the practice fields.

During his most recent media availability, Tennessee’s coach gave an excellent explanation as to the lack of music on the practice field for the Vols — he intends to coach and doesn’t understand how music helps him do that.

“I don’t think they play music during football games. I’ve never heard it, maybe they do. I like to coach, and I like for the people to be able to hear me when I do coach,” Pruitt said. “We only have 20 hours in a week where we can coach them, so I darn sure don’t want music out there where they can’t hear what I’m saying.”

No cliches here, just straight to the point. That’s got to be refreshing in Knoxville.
