Jeremy Pruitt inherited some talented running backs when he arrived in Knoxville, the only program is that many of the backs on the roster aren’t necessarily fits for what the Tennessee coach ideally wants to run.

Soon after arriving in Knoxville, Pruitt and his staff targetted in-state recruit Jeremy Banks as a top prospect. Despite rushing for nearly 2,000 yards and over 30 touchdowns as a senior, Banks was not exactly a high-value target of the previous staff’s radar. However, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound power back was exactly what Pruitt wants for his Tennessee teams.

After landing Banks’ signature during the early signing period, Tennessee appears to be getting a hard-working back that won’t shy away from contact.
