He’s 6-foot-5 and 309 pounds. And he wants to play … cornerback?

Surely Tennessee offensive lineman Drew Richmond was only joking, as the redshirt sophomore provided a funny moment at Vols fall camp on Sunday afternoon.

While speaking with the media, Richmond was asked if he is playing any positions other than left tackle this year. His answer induced some laughter.

“Cornerback,” Richmond quipped. “It’s going good, me and coach [Jeremy] Pruitt like this.”

Richmond went on to continue the joke, stating that he has “good hips.”

Here’s a clip of the funny exchange, courtesy of Louis Fernandez Jr. of WBIR Channel 10 News in Knoxville:

Richmond started seven games at left tackle last season. In 2016, he played nine games and made six starts, all at left tackle. It’s likely that Richmond will again be a key piece of Tennessee’s offensive line this year.

And who knows? Maybe if the Vols have a big lead one game, Pruitt could let Richmond live out his dream of playing cornerback. However, that seems highly unlikely.
