Another big win means another move up the polls for Ole Miss. The Rebels popped in at No. 13 when the College Football Playoff committee released its second-to-last poll Tuesday night.

There’s no chance for a playoff spot for Ole Miss, of course, but how they’re rated does matter, especially in regards to Florida. The second-best SEC team should get a Sugar Bowl bid and that’s likely between Ole Miss and Florida right now. Florida is ranked 18th after its 27-2 loss to Florida State. Ole Miss was the big mover this week, going up five spots.

The Rebels were ranked No. 18 when the first poll came out on Nov. 3, but fell out completely the following week after losing 53-52 in overtime to Arkansas. They were back in at No. 22 a week later then jumped four spots to No. 18 after beating LSU.

In this week’s poll, Alabama came in at No. 2 and looks to be in good shape to earn a playoff spot. Florida is down to No. 18 and LSU is at No. 21. Tennessee was ranked for the first time, coming in at No. 25.
