Tyrin Lawrence is headed back to Vanderbilt after all.

Lawrence entered the transfer portal and considered programs like Auburn, Texas Tech and Georgia, but ultimately decided to return to Jerry Stackhouse’s program.

Lawrence last season may be most remembered for a game-winning buzzer beater against No. 6 Tennessee in a game in which he scored 19 points. Lawrence played in 36 games with 34 starts and averaged 13.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 29 minutes per game.

Lawrence could fill it up as he shot 50.2% from the floor and 36% from 3-point range, and was 11th in the SEC in made field goals (165) and points (470). He had 24 games where he scored in double figures, and scored 20 or more points 6 times.

Lawrence has a chance to become Vanderbilt’s 52nd 1,000-point scorer in the 2023-24 season, and he joins Ezra Manjon, Colin Smith, Lee Dort and Paul Lewis as the players from the 2022-23 season returning to Vanderbilt.
