Vanderbilt announces fans can donate bowl tickets in late tight end's honor
Vanderbilt has announced a way for Commodores fans and others to say thank you to those who cared for late tight end Turner Cockrell.
Cockrell passed away late last month. He missed the 2018 season to receive treatment for melanoma at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
The Commodores are heading to Houston later this month (Dec. 27) to play Baylor in the Texas Bowl. The school announced that fans can donate tickets to the doctors, nurses and hospital staff who helped treat Cockrell, and other families currently undergoing treatment.
It goes without saying that one doesn’t have to be a Vanderbilt fan to donate tickets.
Tickets may be purchased using the code VUBOWLGIVE
Please note that you will not receive the tickets, as they will be donated directly to families at @MDAndersonNews.
