Vanderbilt’s recruiting class took a hit Saturday night when 3-star LB commit Tyree Thompson announced that he will sign with UCLA on Wednesday.

Thompson is ranked as the nation’s No. 11 JUCO OLB and the state of California’s No. 26 overall JUCO player, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Thompson originally committed to North Texas in early January only to flip to Vanderbilt the very next day. However, not even a month later, Thompson has flipped again, this time to UCLA and Chip Kelly.

The 6-3, 235-pound JUCO transfer out of Los Angeles Valley College racked up 51 tackles, including 11 for loss, with one sack in 2017.

With the loss of Thompson, Vanderbilt has just one committed player who hasn’t already signed heading into Wednesday’s second National Signing Day. Sixteen players have already signed with Derek Mason and the Commodores.
