As the college football season moves into November, we’re starting to see more and more players putting their names into the transfer portal. Vanderbilt was hit with some attrition on Tuesday.

According to 247Sports’ Robbie Weinstein, the Commodores are losing a quarterback to the portal.

Jeremy Moussa, according to Weinstein, will look to leave the program at the end of the season. A 6-foot-3 senior, Moussa joined the Commodores ahead of the 2020 season after leading San Bernardino Valley College to a 9-2 record and a 2019 Inland Empire Athletic Conference title. He was the conference’s co-offensive player of the year that season and threw for 37 touchdowns.

Moussa has only appeared in two games for Vanderbilt since joining the program, though. He did not see the field in 2020 and has eight pass attempts in two games so far this season.

Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea confirmed the news.

Lea, per Weinstein, spoke with Moussa and understood the California native’s desire to play more. Despite putting his name in the portal, he’ll remain with the team through the end of the year.

Vanderbilt is just 2-7 on the season and winless in conference play (0-5). Sophomore quarterback Mike Wright led the team in its last game against Missouri. The Commodores have 3 other scholarship quarterbacks on the roster as well as a commitment from 3-star quarterback Drew Dickey in the 2022 recruiting cycle.
