One of the more respected receivers coaches in the SEC is moving to Nashville.

Former Texas A&M receivers coach Aaron Moorehead has been hired by Vanderbilt, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. Moorehead served as Texas A&M’s receivers coach from 2015-17, helping to develop and coach some of the league’s best receivers during that time, such as the highly-touted Christian Kirk and the underrated recruit Josh Reynolds. Both players would develop into All-SEC selections under Moorehead.

Moorehead should be a nice pickup for Vanderbilt and Derek Mason, as not only is he noted for his coaching ability and developmental skills but his ability to recruit in the SEC landscape.

Before landing in College Station, Moorehead coached receivers at Virginia Tech, Stanford and New Mexico. He also won a Super Bowl as a player with the Indianapolis Colts catching passes from Peyton Manning.
