Amari Cooper’s world just got a whole lot brighter on Tuesday.
The former Alabama star wideout has been traded by the lowly Cleveland Browns to the 1st-place Buffalo Bills. The Bills are reportedly shipping 2 draft picks to the Browns to acquire the 5-time Pro Bowler, who was wasting away this season in Cleveland but now will get the chance to be part of a Super Bowl contender.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns will receive a 2025 3rd-round pick and a 2026 7th-round pick in the deal. In addition to Cooper, the Bills will get a 2025 6th-round pick.

Cooper had 24 catches for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, but he wasn’t making a difference for the 1-5 Browns, who have apparently decided they want to get something in return now for Cooper.
The 30-year-old Cooper had just reworked his contract with the Browns ahead of the 2024 season. Now he’s headed to Buffalo, which outlasted the New York Jets, 23-20, on Monday Night Football to stay atop the AFC East at 4-2.
Cooper will be a clear upgrade for a Bills receiving corps that underwent big changes this offseason. Suddenly, quarterback Josh Allen has a new, shiny veteran target who’s been a star for a long time. Cooper had been with the Browns since 2022.
Cooper played at Alabama from 2012-14, helping the Crimson Tide win a national title in 2012 and being named a unanimous All-American in 2014 before being drafted with the 4th overall pick by the then-Oakland Raiders in 2015.
