South Carolina joined the SEC in 1991 ahead of the 1992 football season. Since then, the Gamecocks have played in the SEC Championship Game only once, losing 56-17 to eventual-national-champion Auburn in 2010.
The Gamecocks have only produced 5 consensus All-Americans over the years, including 1 Heisman Trophy winner. RB George Rogers claimed the sport’s top award back in 1980.
Back in 1969, the Gamecocks won the ACC conference championship. Under current coach Shane Beamer, the future is bright in Columbia.
