We love rivalries and historic matchups involving Southeastern Conference teams. Here you can find some of the best rivalries in the conference and navigate to the various matchup pages we have dedicated to the various SEC rivalries, including those longstanding, Thanksgiving weekend tilts with nonconference rivals.

Iron Bowl: Alabama vs Auburn

Alabama and its top rival Auburn have done it all.

The Tide and Tigers have won national championships.

They’ve produced Heisman Trophy winners.

Both schools have had multiple 3,000-yard passers and more than a dozen 1,000-yard rushers.

They’ve also delivered one of the greatest rivalries in college football history.

Alabama leads the Iron Bowl series by a comfortable margin. Here is every score in Alabama vs. Auburn history.

Alabama vs Georgia

The Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs haven’t met quite as often, but lately, the stakes have been huge.

Twice in a 5-year span, they played each other in the Playoff national championship game.

Just like Alabama, Georgia also produced 1,000-yard rushers, led by the incomparable Herschel Walker.

Cocktail Party: Florida vs Georgia

The Florida Gators also have produced national champions, Heisman Trophy winners and 1,000-yard rushers.

Rex Grossman, one of the Gators’ 3,000-yard passers, is one of the biggest snubs in Heisman history.

The World’s Largest Cocktail Party — ie, Florida vs. Georgia — goes a long way in helping to write that rich history.

LSU vs Alabama

Want to win a national championship? It helps to win this game.

LSU and Alabama have used each other as a measuring stick. The Tigers and Tide combined to win 9 national championships from 2003-2020.

Each national title in that span included a victory over its rival — including Alabama’s wild 2011 national title victory over LSU — which came shortly after LSU beat Alabama 9-6 in a defensive slugfest for the ages in the regular season.

Overall, Alabama has dominated the all-time series. Saturday Down South has a more detailed look at the rivalry, including every score in LSU vs. Alabama history.

Alabama vs Tennessee

“The Third Saturday in October” belongs to Alabama vs. Tennessee.

The Tide and Volunteers have played more than 100 times, and while Alabama leads the series, it hasn’t always dominated.

Here’s a look at every score in Alabama vs. Tennessee history.

LSU vs Florida

Spicy. That’s one way to describe LSU vs. Florida.

Iconic stadiums. Frenzied fan bases. And usually incredibly hard-fought football games.

Entering the 2025 season, the all-time series was tied 34-34-1.

Tennessee vs Florida

Steve Spurrier and Peyton Manning didn’t define the Tennessee-Florida rivalry, but they sure added fuel to the fire.

The longtime SEC East rivals typically had to go through each other to reach the SEC Championship Game.

Florida leads the all-time series, an edge Spurrier helped build. The Head Ball Coach went 8-4 against the Volunteers — and famously undefeated against Manning.

Auburn vs Georgia

The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry also is one of the best in college football.

Both programs have won national championships and produced Heisman winners. In 1982, fans were treated to Herschel Walker vs. Bo Jackson. Herschel won the Heisman Trophy that season; Bo won his in 1985.

Interestingly, though they’ve played more than 120 times entering 2025, they’ve only met once in the SEC Championship Game.

Texas vs Oklahoma

The Red River Rivalry is new to the SEC, but it’s been a staple of southwest football for more than a century.

Texas first played Oklahoma in 1900. The Longhorns and Sooners have met almost every year since — and early on, they occasionally played twice.

Texas vs Texas A&M

Together again, at long last.

Texas and Texas A&M had one of the longest-running rivalries in college football until the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012. For more than a decade, the two teams traded barbs but didn’t play.

In 2024, Texas joined the SEC and a great rivalry was reborn.

In 2025, the Longhorns and Aggies will meet for the 120th time.
