Tua Tagovailoa has not played for the Miami Dolphins in over a month. The quarterback suffered a severe concussion against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 and has not been able to play since then.
Head injuries are nothing new for Tagovailoa, so the Dolphins rightfully are being cautious. However, the QB will reportedly begin practicing next week and should be ready for the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Dolphins need Tagovailoa back if they want to salvage this season. The team is sitting at 2-3 and has struggled mightily without their franchise QB. Skylar Thompson, Tim Boyle, and Tyler Huntley have all played in Tagovailoa’s absence and none have inspired much confidence.
Tagovailoa led the NFL in passing yards in 2023 and earned his first Pro Bowl selection. Injuries have been the main issue for Tagovailoa, but if he can stay healthy, the Dolphins could be contenders once again.
The QB starred for Alabama from 2017-19 and helped lead the Tide to a national championship in 2017. Tagovailoa is 4th in career passing yards among Alabama QBs and is the leader in passing TDs. The QB was selected in the 1st round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins and has already thrown for over 13,000 passing yards in the NFL.
The Dolphins play the Colts in NFL Week 7.
