Sam Pittman has added to his Arkansas support staff this week with the hire of former Georgia Southern Director of Player Personnel Butler Benton.

Prior to landing at Georgia Southern, Benton served four seasons at Michigan State as the player personnel coordinator for the Spartans. Benton also has experience working in the player development department at Notre Dame.

Benton’s hire at Arkansas was first reported by Bruce Feldman of The Athletic.

“Georgia Southern’s Dir. of Player Personnel Butler Benton is expected to become the executive director of player personnel at #Arkansas. He was in player development at Notre Dame and Michigan State previously, and had a strong role in recruiting for the Spartans,” Feldman reported.

Benton played his college football at Cincinnati, playing under Mark Dantonio. He is a native of Detroit, Mich.
