Kentucky edges out Florida for crucial road win in SEC play

Kentucky picked up a huge road win over Florida on Saturday afternoon in Gainesville.

The Wildcats prevailed 87-85, picking up their 2nd Quad 1 win of the year in the process. Antonio Reeves led Kentucky with 19 points.

Florida led for most of the 2nd half before Kentucky took the lead on an Aaron Bradshaw 3-pointer with 1:27 remaining. Reed Sheppard, who had 14 points off the bench, went 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final 19 seconds to ice the game for Kentucky.

Sheppard has continued to play like one of the best freshmen in the country. His 14 points on just 4 field goal attempts in this game as he made 11 trips to the charity stripe. Sheppard also contributed 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

DJ Wagner, Tre Mitchell, Reeves and Bradshaw all scored in double-figures in this game. Mitchell led all Kentucky players with 10 rebounds. Wagner had a team-high 3 assists in this game.

Kentucky will be back in action again on Tuesday as it hosts Mizzou.
