WATCH: Kentucky C Drake Jackson expects Vandy to deliver punch in the mouth like it did vs. Florida

Kentucky C Drake Jackson watched the Florida-Vanderbilt game live, so he was fully prepared to dive into preparation for this week’s game against Vanderbilt knowing the Commodores put up quite a fight against the Gators.
“They made Florida turn the ball over, and the game got chippy,” Jackson said. “I think that shows that these guys are going to fight, no matter who they’re playing. I think that kind of reminds us of us, reminded me of us. They’re probably going to be underdogs, whatever, blah, blah, blah, and they just went out there and punched Florida in the mouth. … They’re going to probably come out and do the exact same thing to us.”
UK’s won two straight in the series, and three of the last four. But to keep up in the SEC East race, the Wildcats need to keep pace with the likes of Georgia, who it still has left on its schedule down the stretch.
Jackson added that the team hasn’t avoided looking at the possibility of winning the division.
“I don’t think you do avoid looking too far ahead, I think everybody does,” Jackson said. “There’s no question about it. Everybody knows where we stand, what’s possible, and I think it’s motivation for a lot of people. It’s a little bit easier to go out and prepare better, and play better, when you have a chance to win the SEC, as opposed to being fifth or sixth in the East. So it’s kind of motivation to say, ‘Hey guys, you can go to Atlanta, if you really worked at it.'”
The Commodores and Wildcats will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday in Lexington on the SEC Network.
