Jayden Jernigan, Oklahoma State DL transfer, announces SEC destination

Jayden Jernigan is used to playing on a stout defense, and now the former Oklahoma State defensive lineman will get a crack at the SEC.
Jernigan on Sunday announced that he committed to Missouri, and became the second transfer portal addition for the Tigers in as 3 days. Jerigan, who has 2 years of eligibility remaining, played in all 14 Oklahoma State games this season, recorded 22 tackles, including 2 for loss, and one sack. He added 11 quarterback hurries. Oklahoma State was No. 4 in the country this past season in total defense.
Jernigan entered the transfer portal on Dec. 15, but played for the Cowboys in the 37-35 Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame. He had 3 tackles.
The 6-foot-1, 285-pounder did not play last year because of COVID-19, but was a breakout star during his true freshman season in 2019. Jernigan saw action in all 13 games that year, recorded 13 total tackles, including two sacks and four tackles for loss, per GoPokes247.

Missouri needs Jernigan because of the departures at his position include Akial Byers, Kobie Whiteside and Ben Key.
