Joe Milton III, that’s how you start a football game.
A good pass saw an even better reception by Tennessee WR Squirrel White for an opening-drive touchdown for Tennessee against Alabama Saturday afternoon. The Vols lead early, 7-0 in Tuscaloosa.
Milton led a strong opening drive for the Vols, 8 plays for 75 yards. He was perfect from the field, connecting on all 5 of his passes for 60 yards and, of course, a great touchdown ball.

Tennessee needs a continued big day from Milton if they’re to win this one. The Vols QB has struggled to start the season, with Tennessee instead relying on a strong offensive line pushing up front for a dangerous RB trio of Jaylen Wright, Dylan Sampson and Jabari Small.
And the crowd at Bryant-Denny, paired with a strong defense from the Tide, will make continued success difficult for the Vols.
Let’s see if Milton and Co. can keep this strong start going. It’s 7-0 Vols with under 12 remaining in the first quarter.
