Late in Saturday afternoon’s Georgia-Florida game, it looked as if the Gators’ record 367-game scoring streak was in jeopardy.

However, late in the game, the Gators scored on Georgia’s backup defenders once coach Kirby Smart had pulled his starters.

Still, after the game, Smart was upset that the Bulldogs’ second unit couldn’t preserve the shutout, voicing his frustrations to reporters in the aftermath of the 42-7 victory (via RedAndBlack.com):

“I was pissed,” Smart told reporters after the game. “If you put guys in, the idea is they go in and play to a standard, and they didn’t do that,” Smart said. “If we’d have had 85 guys here instead of 70, I’d have put 11 other ones in, to put other guys in to give them an opportunity to get better.”

The Gators scored on their final possession of the game, with RB Mark Thompson scoring on a one-yard run to cap off a drive led by backup QB Malik Zaire.

Moving forward, though, the expectations have been set for the Bulldogs’ backups, and it’ll be interesting to see if the players rise to future challenges.
