Report: Dallas Cowboys expected to waive former Arkansas star RB Darren McFadden

To say the 2017 season hasn’t gone according to plan for former Arkansas RB Darren McFadden would be an understatement.
Entering the year, McFadden was expected to serve as the top backup to Dallas Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott, but even as Zeke serves a six-game suspension, McFadden hasn’t gotten much work, getting passed on the Cowboys’ depth chart by Alfred Morris and Rod Smith.
On Sunday, news broke that the Cowboys are expected to release the former Arkansas star so he can find a new team before the end of the regular season:
Can confirm RB Darren McFadden will be released today so he can find a job with playing time elsewhere. He's been inactive 2 of 3 games without Ezekiel Elliott and got 1 carry vs. Atlanta.

For the season, McFadden only has one carry for -2 yards, so he should be pretty fresh for whatever team he ends up with.
Could he make a difference for a team in the playoff hunt? That remains to be seen, but McFadden is only two years removed from rushing for 1,089 yards for the Cowboys in 2015.
It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up next, as several teams could probably use his services.
