If it worked in 1988, why not try it again?
Wearing the same uniform combination it donned during the program’s last win in Tuscaloosa, Ole Miss beat Alabama in its throwback powder blue helmets, white jersey, grey pants look Saturday night to leap 12 spots to No. 3 in the latest AP Top 25.
The Rebels sported the powder blue helmets last season against Memphis for the first time since 1994, honoring the late Chucky Mullins, a former player who was paralyzed during a game in 1989. The Rebels donned the powder blue helmets from 1948-77 and again from 1983-94.
Ole Miss is slated to wear the helmets again Saturday night against Vanderbilt.
No. 19 Northwestern sported a new all-white alternate road set in Durham against the Blue Devils, highlighted by a fierce white helmet with an oversized secondary ‘Wildcat’ graphic:

Oregon revealed another 2015 alternate with its ‘Combo Duck’ helmet logo, this time on a black shell paired with an all-volt jersey and pants set.
Liberty picked the perfect time to reveal its new matte red helmets with a chrome wrap-around logo, upsetting seventh-ranked Montana at home in front of a record crowd:
