No. 3 Alabama and No. 11 Texas will clash in a major Week 2 showdown but their kickers recently came together for a worthy cause.

Alabama’s Will Reichard and Texas’ Bert Auburn joined together in an upcoming NIL commercial from Goldman Sachs advocating for congress to reauthorize the Small Business Administration.

During the commercial, the pair of kickers that are a part of the preseason Lou Groza Award watch list share some banter as they note that the comparison between their position group and small businesses, as both are vital yet under-appreciated.

There’s been some traction as of late for reauthorization, as the Senate Small Business Committee approved 10 bills during the summer to revise the SBA.

“We’re pleased with the current progress in the Senate, but it’s time to finish the job and reauthorize the SBA,” Joe Wall, National Director of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices. Joe Wall said in the press release. “Reauthorizing the SBA would have a huge impact on the small business community. We thank Will Reichard and Bert Auburn, two of the best kickers in the country, for helping us to push SBA reauthorization over the goal line.”

The 22-year-old Reichard was an All-American in 2020 and a Second-team All-SEC selection last season. The junior Auburn was an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection in 2022.

Texas at Alabama is slated for Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. EST and will be televised on ESPN.
