Former South Carolina WR/return specialist Pharoh Cooper was an All-Pro selection just last season, ranking second in the NFL in kickoff and punt return averages.
However, with the new rules in the NFL this year, the value of return men has been drastically reduced, and Cooper has been much less effective this year.
On Tuesday, the Rams announced that they were waiving Cooper, ending his three-year tenure with the team:

Cooper has been limited after injuring his ankle back in Week 1, but the Rams have also started using S Blake Countess on kickoff returns in recent weeks.
Cooper was a fourth-round pick by the Rams back in 2016 after his dynamic career with the Gamecocks.
