BWAAAHHHHHH!!!!! HAAAAA HAAA!!!! This is the stupidest thing I have read all summer - and there's been A LOT of stupidity! Thanks for the good laugh!
I said congrats, but apparently my post was clearly for you. I know it's been 41 years, but try to act like you've been there before.
I'd like to say that this post is for the UGA fans who think UGA put the beatdown on Alabama for the Natty and bragging about it - specifically Mattmd2. For the respectable and rational UGA fans congrats on your No. 1! This post is not meant for you. I love all you UGA fans that are down playing your close game with Cincy, "we had 10 starters out, etc." I will say, congrats on your No. 1 ranking in 41 years. But have you ever thought of the difference between what happened in Atlanta and in Indy? You basically played Alabama's second string in Indy. Between Atlanta and Indy, Alabama lost their two nationally top receivers, and three offensive linemen. With the front line UGA had this year, those three linemen were a devastating loss. So, as long as you can accept that Cincy didn't play the "real" Georgia, then I am sure, with no doubt, you'll accept that y'all got lucky at the second chance with Alabama, and the 'real' natty was played in Atlanta.
Gen Neyland was one of two coaches who Bryant had a losing record against. That says a lot. LOL
Let's hope Peyton has the least % of "face" in there!
LOL@"monumental." But you know, it is true, he has done quite a lot for the SEC.
Are we talking about how to make money or how to honor the SEC Greats? Money making, yeah, put Tebow up there, but to honor the 82 year history of the SEC, leave him off.
...and yes, Bryant and Gen. Neyland both played and coached at their schools as well - so that's a sealed deal! so the only question would be: who is the fourth?!
Ah, yes, I forgot about the crying! There's no crying in football! lol Agreed on the General. People always are so quick to pick the recents.
Should have a legacy of presidents. I didn't not even think of one player who deserved to be up there, there are too many great coaches that deserve such an honor. Of course Bryant; the other three that first came to mind was Neyland and Spurrier (played AND coached great ball in the SEC.) Some may argue Dooley (Vince, obviously,) or Saban (but we already have an Alabama coach up there.) If we HAD to go to players, the first that comes to my mind is Herschel. But everyone is so quick to pick the recent guys (yes, I am talking about Tebow.) What about all the other greats that have come before him - that actually did well beyond college too - like Broadway Joe?
