Video Replay: Three SEC players ejected for targeting Saturday

Three SEC freshmen were ejected for targeting during Saturday’s games: Auburn’s Nick Ruffin, Texas A&M’s Qualen Cunningham and South Carolina’s DJ Smith.

Here are video replays of all three hits:

Nick Ruffin, Auburn DB (FR)

Auburn safety Nick Ruffin was disqualified for his hit on LSU’s Trey Quinn late in the second quarter. Quinn was running a crossing pattern over the middle and Ruffin came up from his Star position and leveled a hit on him that was called for targeting.

Qualen Cunningham, Texas A&M DE (FR)

Texas A&M DE Qualen Cunningham led with his helmet on a Dak Prescott pitch to Josh Robinson, drawing a targeting penalty and an ejection.

DJ Smith, South Carolina DB (FR)

South Carolina defensive back DJ Smith was ejected during his first ever start for targeting. Smith hit the Kentucky receiver at the chin-level.
