So long, Kentucky.

Saturday’s loss at Vanderbilt takes the Wildcats out of this week’s projection as the latest SEC East team to hit the bottom this season. With two games left, only Florida, Georgia and Tennessee are postseason locks in a division that fought tirelessly during the offseason to generate some hope that its ego would be repaired in 2015.

It hasn’t.

The East is bad.

Mizzou’s win over BYU at Arrowhead Stadium gives the Tigers (5-5) a shot at another game in Gary Pinkel’s final season, but their final two contests against Tennessee and Arkansas are quite challenging. The Vols have won three straight while Bret Bielema’s squad has posted two quality road wins in consecutive weeks.

LSU’s loss to the Razorbacks was its second straight after coming in at No. 2 in the first College Football Playoff rankings. It now appears that Florida, at 9-1, would be the SEC’s most attractive option for a New Year’s Six bid if Alabama qualifies for the final four. LSU has lost its mojo and Central Florida becomes a probable destination.
