Not a good look, Roger Goodell.

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. was fined $18,000 for wearing custom cleats in honor of the late Craig Sager that were auctioned for charity.

“I got fined 18k for Craig Sager cleats that were auction off the cleats to the highest bidder and donating the proceeds to his cancer research,” Beckham wrote in a reply to an Instagram post by DeSean Jackson, who said he was also fined by the NFL for nonconforming cleats. “18k like it’s nothing to them, no warning to take them off or anything noTHING!”

We could write 3,000 words on double standards in the NFL and why this is a messed up deal — for example, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was not fined for jumping into a Salvation Army bucket after scoring a touchdown (as he shouldn’t have) — but at this point, that pretty much goes without saying.

Do better, NFL.
