Though he went 5-2 as LSU’s interim head coach after Les Miles was fired, Ed Orgeron earned his first official win as the team’s head coach by defeating Louisville and Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson in Saturday’s Citrus Bowl.

The Tigers held the Cardinals without a touchdown for the first time since 2010 in the 29-9 victory, after which Coach O received a well-deserved Gatorade shower.

Following the game, Coach O was in good spirits as he spoke with the media. Here’s what the winning coach had to say:

On a great defensive effort that held Louisville without a touchdown for the first time since 2010:

On defensive coordinator Dave Aranda switching up LSU’s defensive strategy:

On picking up his first win as the Tigers’ official head coach:

On getting players to return in 2017:

On RB Derrius Guice’s big day in place of the injured Leonard Fournette:

LSU finished the season with a record of 8-4. Orgeron will have full control of the program heading into 2017.
